Formula Student is the world's most established engineering design competition — run under Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and IMechE sanctioning, with events across Europe, the US, and Asia. Teams of university students design, build, and race a full single-seater formula car, judged on engineering design, cost, business planning, and dynamic performance.
Mario Blazevski founded and leads North Macedonia's inaugural Formula Student programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje — the first time the country has been represented at this level of international student engineering competition.
Beyond leading the national team, Mario serves as a Chief Mechanical Scrutineer and official technical inspector at three international Formula Student events — a role that requires FIA International Technical Sporting Licences (EQF Level 8) and deep expertise in vehicle safety regulations.
Mario holds dual FIA International Technical Sporting Licences (EQF Level 8) — first issued in 2023, recertified 2024 — and an FIA Steward Licence (EQF Level 5). He also serves as President of the Technical Commission at the Automobile Federation of North Macedonia (AMSM / FIA member), chairing the national technical regulatory body governing vehicle safety and motorsport compliance.

Chief Mechanical Scrutineer since June 2023. Led multi-car inspection programme; digitised workflow for 20% efficiency gain. Directed scrutineer team and arbitrated technical disputes.
Official scrutineer since March 2024. Full vehicle inspections covering chassis, suspension, braking, and EV/ICE powertrain systems against FIA GT3 structural and safety standards.
Official scrutineer since March 2024. Technical assessment and mentoring of student engineering teams on regulatory compliance and iterative design improvement.
