The project

AerTh Racing is North Macedonia's first internationally competitive motorsport and aerospace engineering team — founded by Mario Blazevski in September 2022. The team competes in F1 in Schools, the world's foremost STEM competition run under FIA sanctioning, in which student engineers design, manufacture, and race miniature Formula 1 cars using industry-standard CAD, aerodynamics, and manufacturing techniques.

Starting from zero with no national precedent, Mario assembled and led a multidisciplinary team of 6–12 students — covering aerodynamics, structural design, manufacturing, sponsorship, and marketing — and brought North Macedonia to the F1 in Schools World Finals for the first time ever.

World Finals appearances

  • London, UK — 2022: First Macedonian team to qualify and compete at the F1 in Schools World Finals. Competing against teams from over 40 countries at the Silverstone Circuit complex.
  • Singapore — 2023: Second consecutive World Finals appearance, demonstrating sustained programme excellence and iterative engineering improvement between seasons.

What the team engineered

  • Full vehicle design using CAD (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks) and CFD aerodynamic simulation — optimising drag coefficient and downforce for the miniature F1 car
  • 3D printing and precision CNC machining for car manufacture, applying composite and lightweight material principles
  • Business plan, sponsorship strategy, and marketing campaign — securing multi-year corporate and academic partners
